Black Rose Cafe & Bakehouse

Great little gem in Locust Grove! The Black Rose is a comfy little coffee shop right on the main drag in LG. They also have delicious cakes and pastries too! It’s locally owned so the care and attention they give you is different than a big chain store. Cool place to relax with friends! Will definitely be back!

The atmosphere is so perfect; cozy meets modern/slightly industrial. My husband loved his coffee (perfect roast, great flavor) and I enjoyed trying their Iced Praline Latte with Oat Milk! The éclair was super tasty and a great combo with our coffee (plus it was toddler-approved by our 2 year old). We enjoyed chatting with the owner and getting to know this business! So wonderful to have this little local coffee shop and bake house!

I would love to give this place 5 stars the hype of the opening my wife was so excited to go to this location but sadly today I don’t believe it was the best day for this coffee shop. The employees seems very dead inside it’s almost like walking into a chain coffee shop. It was my wife’s first time being there and I turned to order and the girl ask what she wanted for her order. My wife responded to its “give me a second I have never been here before I’m so excited” The girl just stands there doesn’t make any suggestions or ever a smile. We order the cheese danish and a cappuccino that we waiting 17 mins to get. Upon tasting the coffee it was just hot water no flavor at all. The danish was not edible as it had the parchment paper cooked on the food itself. I had high hopes for this coffee shop but sadly it’s just like ever other chain. I will give this place another try in the future with an updated review. I do wish Black Rose coffee would not just put half and half and coffee cream
