Big Z's Pizza House & Brew

This place is very nice the food is as spot on as your going to find as close to CHICAGO STYLE DEEP DISH PIE! The Italian sausage sandwich was delicious and spot on. If you order a deep dish pie, call ahead and order it because if you order it when you get there it’s going to take at least an hour before it comes out. You never rush deep dish pizza, never. All their ingredients are shipped in from Chicago but their bread. Their bread is made locally I wish I knew where from because it’s the best French bread anywhere, I bet they get their hot dog buns from the same place. Enjoy!!! So it’s been awhile since I visited this place and just about a week ago I went back. I ordered their Italian sandwich and it wasn’t the same it was a real let down. They changed their bread and the sausage was very over cooked. Seems they got comfortable in their food leaving the kitchen that’s to bad.

Completely AUTHENTIC! Born in Chicago, visit often, and ALWAYS have a Chicago style hot dog and deep dish pizza while there. Have tried many places in Houston and the surrounding area but have never come close to what we experienced at Big Z’s. Tried both the Chicago dog, and the deep dish pizza and they were AWESOME! We will definitely return! A huge thank you to the owner for keeping it truly authentic!

Wad pleasantly suprised by the environment. Felt like a classic neighborhood pizza joint with a twist of local watering hole. Like the partial bar and we'll placed TVs. The music on Monday was oldies (Love oldies! 40's to 60's). Nice craft draft beer selection. Dude at the bar (don't recall his name) was polite and friendly, definitely a big plus. Order the wings with the Big Z rub. Not normally a fan of dry rubs, but this one was very tasty and mixed with the smoked wings was gloriously good! Next time will try a thin crust pie and maybe a homemade dessert. Vegetarian options: They got pizza! Does anything else need to be said!?! Parking: Lots of parking
