Big Norm's Hot Dogs

The food was good, but I had hoped for hand-cut fries. They have very crisp crinkle-cut fries. The Chicago dog was made perfectly. This restaurant still has lots of COVID protections in place, like plastic screens and not being able to fill our own drinks. Traveling from Wisconsin, where most of those things are gone, I was a little surprised by that. Service was good, but not particularly friendly (which may just be another Wisconsin thing). Refills cost $2, which seems pricey. I would assume they have had problems with people being overly generous to themselves in this regard. The interior was somewhat inviting with a college football game on the TV, but I chose to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather and eat outside. I was grateful for the outdoor seating.

The Chicago Dogs we had were spot on. A couple were missing pickles, but that was a completely minor issue. I was so happy that I got to try them as they were definitely made with care and they knew what they were doing. I also felt the love for Chicago and that is what I need to feel when I'm home to visit. I will be returning as long as it's still open. Thank you for the experience.

Just shy of $16 after tax and service charge for a hotdog meal without a refill on drinks. Very painfully average food.
