BIG 8 BBQ

I don’t know if it was an off day for the cooks but my husband and I did not have a good experience with the food. At all. My biggest complaint is that we paid $16 for a tiny “Chinese food” container of burnt ends that were severely over sauced. See photo in this review. The collard greens were extremely gritty and oily which I’ve never experienced before with greens. I ate two bites and tossed them. The potato salad was decent but kind of bland. Maybe just needed some salt. The skin on my half chicken had zero taste. Literally zero. The chicken itself was bland as well and I had to add bbq sauce to make it enjoyable. Each side we got was super tiny for $4 each and honestly at least two of the sides should’ve come free with the $16 tiny portion of burnt ends. I even sent the photo to a few friends and family members because that’s how shocked we were that they skimped us out that bad. Needless to say we won’t be back. The food was truly amazing!! Tender and tasty! The owner came over to our table and was so nice! He was truly proud of the food he was making as he should be. We got the brisket smokie to start not pictured bc it was delicious. Pictured: half jerk chicken and pick 2 platter with burnt end and ribs. Sides mac and cheese and corn bread (of course)! They also offer alcoholic beverages such as $5 beers ! We will definitely be back !

My family and I have been wanting barbecue for some time. We ALL enjoyed our orders! My son wouldn’t stop talking about his food! I ordered the 2 meat platter (brisket & burnt ends), the 8 cheese Mac, cornbread, big 8 beans & banana pudding. My man had the 2 meat platter (Turkey & pulled chicken), collard greens, cornbread, big 8 beans, and the peanut butter pie. My son had the big 8 burger with cheese, big 8 Mac and cheese, and the brownie with ice cream. Everything was SO good! I had to stop myself from eating all my man’s collard greens. The portions and the quality of food was amazing! We are very pleased, and I highly recommend.
