An average Thai Restaurant in Lake Forest. This location is 4 minutes walking distance from Hotel Hilton Garden Inn Irvine Spectrum Lake Forest. We came to this restaurant to eat dinner during our Lake Forest trip. The inside of the restaurant was clean and the overall ambiance was pleasant. We ordered Spicy Fried Rice and Pad See Ew Noodles. Their overall service was good, we didn’t have to wait long to get food. But their food disappointed us the most. Spicy Fried Rice was average and Pad See Ew was the worst Pad See Ew Noodles we have ever had. We went to many Thai Restaurants better than this place so not gonna recommend Bhan Baitong for Thai Food.
It was unusual to get noodles wrapped in tin foil. What was supposed to be meat stock with soybean miso paste, and oyster sauce gravy, Instead they made a very thick egg drop/straganof soup (with meat stock I suppose) and a few fermented whole beans and lemongrass that I couldn't taste because of ton of black pepper. Flavor 80% black pepper, 5% salt and lemongrass, the rest is like egg drop soup. Nothing like Rad Na curry/stew. I couldn't finish it half way because how heavy it was on black pepper, nothing Thai about the way they make this dish.
The food was fantastic and the service was great. Tom Kha soup is delicious.
