I've eaten these types of delis in Chicago and New York. For the price, they're pastrami sandwich was "sad". Not hot and really skimpy on the portion and the pickle tasted like it came right from the can. I will never eat there again, sorry Benji, it was experience I am trying to forget.
It had been awhile since we had visited but I had a craving for lox and a bagel. It's hard to beat Benji's -- excellent everything bagel, nicely toasted, generous portion of superior lox, generous amount of cream cheese. So good, worth the effort. Will definitely make it a more frequent stop.
Been eating corned beef my whole life. Where did all the good old corned beef go? I was craving some yesterday and stopped at Benji's on Port Washington Rd. I paid $26 a pound. It was the worse! I asked for it NOT to be lean, no one cared. It was tough, not tender and breaking apart like good corned beef. It was dry, tasteless. Never again
