We had the nicest server and enjoyed listening to the live music very much. The bar atmosphere was fun and the screens were great to watch the game. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 was the food. Our chicken cheese nachos appetizer was very blah. Just not what we expected, no kick, basic yellow nacho cheese, and no pretty dish presentation. It was some chicken pieces on top of cheese dip and some chips on the side. Parking: There were 2 spots open when we arrived.
My sister and I live on the north side of St. Charles and decided to check out the other side of town tonight with our "adopted" big sister. She suggested Bemo's and we were not disappointed in the least!!! The service was fantastic, friendly, and very fast. The food is absolutely to die for! (None of us are particularly small women, yet not especially big either, but I would sincerely suggest the half order if you choose a pasta dish). They're very rich. The two of us who did that still needed a box. Next, came the best treat of the night. We were completely surprised with a live band, who I later learned is not a regular on the schedule, but totally should be! It was Scott Latham and Karl Holmes. Absolutely phenomenal!!! Scott tickled the ivory's like no other I've heard in MANY years, and Karl sang songs by Louis Armstrong, The Temptations (all 5 voices by himself), Prince, and many others and sounded exactly like the original artists!!! Next time I know this amazing duo will be at
Tonight was my second visit to this restaurant. Both times were pretty good, although as you can see from the picture this stuff is GREASY. We could definitely tone down the grease levels in here for sure. Grease aside, everything was very flavorful, great use of garlic and savory flavors. As you see in the photos I have the Cajun style shrimp and grits, a classic favorite that I always love. This place does it well! Flavors were comforting and had that good, down-to-earth comfort food feeling. This dish did not come with a side but I got the Brussels sprouts, which were a delightful addition. My companion and I also had Portabella mushrooms for an appetizer, which I did not get a picture of. They were very delicious, a very unique and different kind of appetizer you wouldn’t normally see around town. Topped it off with a pomegranate martini which was a lot more basic (flavor-wise) than I was expecting, and I definitely missed a garnish on it! Would’ve been really beautiful with perhap
