Mamma Mia! delizioso! Hands down the best Italian food I’ve eaten in the DFW area. A very mom & pop place but wonderful vibes! We had a very charming waiter & the owner taught my dad how to pronounce our Italian last name, italia style. We were told the mom and less charismatic brother were in the back whippin up the dishes! & what he may lack in charisma, he may have made up for in the kitchen because woowwwe the food was great. The lasagna was the winner in my books but I think you would be hard pressed to find a pizza with such cracker crust anywhere in a hundred mile radius. And omg the meatballs!! Melt in your mouth, cut like butter… perfection. Try to save room for dessert, they don’t miss here either. I would highly recommend you just get all three because it’s impossible to choose a favorite.
We arrived at 3:50pm and they open at 4. The man who arrived minutes later just said we open at 4, I think he was a little angry because we had arrived 10 minutes early. He didn't invite us to sit or anything, until I asked Can we wait until it's 4? Since it was at this point 5 minutes to open. He said yes and we sat at the bar where we were served by a very friendly man who definitely improved our experience in the restaurant. * I ordered Tortelli ai Funghi Porcini 3/5 *My husband ordered the Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese 3/5 The food was good, its flavors are smooth and true to Italian food. I think it's kind of expensive. Still you should give it a chance and visit it. The waiter who served us and the Italian man who came to our table were very friendly, they totally improved the experience we had with the first man.
We loved this place so much that we came back the next day! The Baonecci salad was delicious (coming from someone who doesn’t like veggies). The leaves are very fresh, and the pear goes a long way and adds some nice sweetness. I got the Tordelli Lucchesi (meat ravioli) the first day, and lasagna the second day. Both were delicious. Everyone was super nice and friendly and even remembered us! ????
