Crab fried rice is delicious. Every single grain is well defined and has the nice aroma of “the breath of the wok” and crab fragrance. Drunken noodles is well presented and tastes average, due to the rice noodles that failed to absorb the sauce and fried well. It feels like the rice noodles are just simply stirred for a while and failed to have “the breath of the wok”. I am very particular when it comes to drunken noodles/ Phad kee mao and had my fair share of very good ones. So I have to say this is of average, at most. Fried calamari is too dry and a bit over cooked.
We ordered Garlic Stir Fry with Chicken, Thai Fried Rice with Tofu and Papaya Salad. All the three , entres and the side, were perfectly hot (medium) and tasted great. There wasn't much dining space and that's the only thing I regretted. We visited San Diego from Seattle so can't be 100% sure, but the quantity and the quality was great value for tummy, money and the taste buds alike. 5 stars from me.
One of the best Thai restaurants in San Diego. My Thai friend suggested basil chicken with white rice and she said it is authentic. I got a Pasam shrimp (specialty of December), they seemed to use the shrimp butter to make the sauce and it is so so flavorful. I admire the chef :) I got medium spicy for my dishes but I will scale down to Mild level next time. This place is always crowded and parking is a little difficult. However there are a lot of free parking around the neighborhood. Will definitely be back for more.
