It made me feel sad reading some of these reviews both due to the blatant ignorance and rudeness. The food here was incredible and the service was kind and prompt. This was my first time having Ethiopian and it was a lovely experience. The food was cooked perfectly. The meat was tender and seasoned perfectly as was everything else. The spice level varies between the different items on the plate. If you or your children can't handle spicy perhaps this restaurant isn't for you. They ask if you'd like meat or veggies and that's it, they are menu-less. You trust the cook, it's part of the experience. The quality of the food you will receive is great, but you must be open-minded to varying levels of spice. Also, try the coffee! It was great! Highly recommend.
This so called restaurant had the utmost disrespectful, ignorant, and vapid owner. We were a group of 10 people and we were told that we all had to order one plate per person In order to be served. Not only did she tell us we had to order 10 plates per person but she said it in the most disrespectful manner. We were from out of town and this was very surprising to us. Keep away from this low class restaurant.
This was our second visit to Awash Ethiopian Restaurant. This time we brought more with us. Everything was so delicious. The beef was just right, the sides (greens, cabbage, and mashed lentils) all tasted great with the beef. We also had four well spiced chicken legs on the platter. Even the little one (10-year old) enjoyed the food.
