Avenue Restaurant

We've been coming for a few years now - realized I had never posted a review. Avenue has been a favorite - great food, outstanding service and wonderful home made ice cream! We just finished a wonderful dinner this evening, and once again, we were very pleased! Thanks again for everything!

The food was ok. The service was ok. Nothing to get excited about. The parking is always an issue in Clayton. If I'm in the neighborhood I might eat there again, but I won't go out of my way as I didn't think anything was above average.

Their brunch gets 4 stars, but dinner gets two stars. Brunch was fresh, with generous portions, and a but pricey. Their French toast of the day was BlackBerry and super yum. I loved their chorizo quesadillas with the salsa, it was hard dip it with such a small ramican. Breakfast potatoes seemed simple but were perfectly cooked and well seasoned. I was pleasantly surprised. As for dinner, I was completely underwhelmed by the beef short ribs. They were adequate enough, but nothing spectacular and definitely not worth the $30+ price tag. Service was very slow on both occasions. Worth going for brunch, but pass on the overpriced dinner.
