Aurora Borealis

This is a pretty good place. Walking in I was a little surprised at how nice it was. They had taken the time to make it feel comfortable and warm with a little bit of an upscale feel. The lighting was very nice and the seating is comfortable. The dinning room has a very open and airy feel to it. As for the food is was good. I had a cup of clam chowder that was good. Then I had the fish and chips. This is where it went off the rails a little bit. The fish came in large pieces, which was nice, but the batter was under cooked. This made it a bit of a sloppy mess. I sent that back to be remade and what I got back was over cooked. One piece of fish was so over cooked the fish was dark and the batter had been fried away. Out of the 3 pieces that I got one was edible. On a positive note, the coslaw was very good and the fries were lite and we'll cooked. We also had the onion rings and coconut fried prawns and both were great. Also, the bar has a pretty good whiskey selection a

Myself and a group of friends came to enjoy the Halloween costume show with Platinum Spandex. We arrived early so we could have dinner. There were only people seated at 2 other tables when we got there."not busy at all when we arrived" After sitting and talking for about 25 minutes waiting for somebody to come to our table to take our order My friend got up to find a waitress to ask if we could get our order taken. Our waitress was very nice. We were told the bar was busy Is why it took about 10 more minutes to get our drinks which came out one at a time.? Our 2 appetizers came out when we were almost done with our meals. We were told we could take them downstairs to have during the show. The food was very good and The restaurant was very clean. Just the lack of Service when the restaurant was almost empty was curious. The band put on a great show and we were able to get drinks while we were downstairs which was nice.

I really enjoyed the band, blue velvet groove, that was playing. Disco classics and a lot of fun. The vocalists and the brass section especially were great! Aurora Borealis seems to have a number of groups booked over the summer, I will be back.
