Applebee's Grill + Bar

We decided to try Applebee's on this past Saturday, after not having been for a number of years, and were quickly reminded why we stopped going in the first place. Like many restaurants post-Covid, they were short staffed. We understand the reality these days when it comes to that, but our waiter who was friendly enough, was very unknowledgeable about the menu. He was slow to come back and check on us as we waited over 30 minutes for appetizers. After approximately 30 minutes we decided to check to make sure they weren't going to bring everything out at once. We specifically asked if we were going to get our appetizers before our food, and sure enough, we did -- about 5 minutes before our food. It was obvious when our meals came out that they were purposely held back in the kitchen getting cold just so that they wouldn't be out at the same time. Food was seriously delayed. Steak was well done not medium as ordered. Ribs were tough, overcooked and crunchy on most of it had to saw it apart with a knife. Never received any drink refills and had to beg for silverware which seemed like an inconvenience to them to bring. Talked to manager about food and service but was dismissed with we are short staffed and doing best we can. Stay far far away don't waste $100 like I did.

Came in and were seated but didn't see a single waiter/waitress for 15 minutes. Finally got our drink order taken. Drinks were out of carbonation. Waited another 10 minutes to be able to tell anyone about the drinks and be able to order food. Waited over 30 minutes more for food. This place isn't even busy right now. Server is lousy and unattentive. Manager is not caring. The whole staff matches the boss
