The food was exactly as it should be, hot and fresh and tasty! The restaurant was super clean and organized. The restaurant was very short staffed. The guy in the dining room was doing everything. He was really running his tail and apologizing profusely to everyone there. I felt sorry for him. The food was still great. I was worried because we got there shortly after 11 with a midnight closure. It took 20 minutes to be seated because that poor guy was trying to do catch up. The girl in the bar didn't help. I saw 3 people leave while waiting. I was afraid the kitchen would hate us because we had waited so long to be seated and then get our order taken; but that didn't appear to be the case as the food was fine. I sure hope they get that young man some help soon.

The problem with Applebee's is that you can get way better American food for less. Both Grinders Stonewall and Talk of the Town are close, both of which have substantially better food and atmosphere for cheaper. They are also locally owned. The food here is pretty mediocre to bad. The wings were very obviously frozen and the burger was just ok. Kind of made my stomach upset. The staff were very friendly though. In a small town with very few restaurants I could see going here, but in overland park the other options are just too good.
