My wife and I are visiting from out of state and staying at a hotel near the airport. Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza & Wings is only a couple miles from our hotel, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived about 4:30, purposely hoping to beat the crowd and get back to our hotel after a long day of driving. The restaurant was not crowded. It was quite inviting: industrial looking black ceilings with exposed duct work, crisp white walls with sports memorabilia, and wooden tables and chairs stained a warm medium brown. Sports highlights played on several widescreen TVs, although the sound of the TVs was not playing. Music filled the air instead, which I prefer, though it was just a tad loud for good conversation to take place. There is also a patio for dining for those who enjoy the great outdoors. No matter how you slice it @anthonyscoalfiredpizza will bring consistently good pizza! I didn’t love pizza growing up. It grew on me in college. Since, I’ve lived in two different cities where we take our pizza very seriously (I’m l about that New York slice). But here in south Florida, it’s hard to find a good slice. Although, Anthony’s is a chain, it’s pizza is the best around Ft Lauderdale - no debate here.
Food was. Ery tasty, the server lady was friendly. I had the Long Meatball, she had wings and two meatballs. Her food came quicker than mines, but was worth the wait. Atmosphere was relaxed and artwork was cool theme ofnRat pack, Goodfellow as well as the real gangster Ole Blue Eyes Frank Sinatra A short walk from Crowne Plaza Hotel suite (IHG) up from Mercedes Benz / AMG of Ft Lauderdale . Could of had music a little sooner or would've been 5 stars all across.
