Acme Oyster House

A staple seafood place. I’ve loved Acme my whole life, and this location does a great job. The servers are always friendly, and the food comes out hot and fast. Such a great quick lunch spot. Even when it’s slammed, I’ve never had a bad experience. I am particularly fond of the half shrimp poboy and cup of seafood gumbo. Their onion rings are honestly to die for! When my out-of-town family comes to visit, this is always on the top of their list. Never disappointed!

The service was good, but this location is nothing like the Acme on Bourbon. The food was better there, but my party enjoyed their food. Got the fish and shrimp platter, the seafood gumbo, some lemonade, and sweet tea. The lemonade was good, but the sweet tea was AMAZING. The fish was thin and hard on the edges, but the shrimp was good. The seafood gumbo had a funky taste to it. I mean extreme funkiness. The jambalaya was good when my niece got it, so I switched my gumbo out for it, and the batch I got was burnt. Still tasted better than the seafood gumbo. The alligator bites were decent, kind of hard and tough. The parking is very tight. The ponchartrain catfish was good with the cream sauce. Parking: Barely any. Tight parking lot.

First time eating here and it more than exceeded our expectations. Ample table and at bar seating. The charbroiled clams are a must. Everything we ordered was delicious. Service was friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back. A little pricey, but definitely worth it.
