Academy Street Bistro

We stopped by here for a drink on our way to dinner elsewhere. The staff was really friendly--the hostess was nice from the start and we were met by Becca and Brooke at the bar where we had a wonderful glass of Bordeaux and an Old Fashioned. As someone visiting from Texas, I have to say this was just such a nice experience as I was made to feel right at home...Southern hospitality at its finest. I'm definitely going to return and have dinner here with my wife when she comes with me next time in a few months--my sis just moved here so I'm enjoying the visits and the area. Loved the vibe of this gem we stumbled upon!

Recommended by a friend and will be forever indebted to them. The food and atmosphere are absolutely lovely. I had a salad with crab cakes and let me tell you - they are the best ones I have ever had. Adam served us and was so attentive and interesting!! Also met the owner, who seems like the most genuine guy. Came for the crab cakes, stayed for Adam. All around an incredible experience.

We held an engagement party last Saturday night for our daughter with 50 plus guests in the bar area of Academy Street Bistro. The event was amazing I'll due to Joe the owner and his wonderful staff. The room was beautiful with high top tables covered in white tablecloths votive candles to which I added a single rose. The food was amazing. We served a selection of delicious appetizers. We also had an open bar where Becca and Brook created wonderful cocktails without anyone having to wait more than a minute or two to get their drinks. Quite an amazing feat when you have 50 people all drinking. As we asked they continued to butler trays of appetizers as well as serve drinks without people even having to go up to the bar to order one. I honestly have never seen service like this at any event. It was over the top excellent! I guess we're as impressed as we were and all said that they would have an event here.
