101 Cafe

I was really surprised by this place. First, the location and ambiance gave it a distinctive flavor. Followed by what I deemed to be great food that was more home cooking than restaurant food. The service was adequate. The only thing I had a problem with was the check being presented before we had finished our meals. I think that alone shows a lack of class which is why I didn't give it five stars. Overall, it was enjoyable. Parking: More spots for parking needed.

Music was good. Food was great. The service was just that, plain old basic take your order, bring your food. They lacked personality, spirit and a personable approach. To the owner; you get some happy servers your place of business will be a winner. In my humble opinion it was just blah. Your food deserves better. I was just passing thru on my Harley-Davidson tour Saturday afternoon and won't see the change yet I wish you well.

7/8/22... First time visit and when I'm back in the area, I plan on a revisit. Had the short stack with a side of bacon and an ice tea. The pancakes were thick and fluffy. The bacon cooked just right. It was not too crowded and it seemed all the customers were happy with their meals. Prices were on par with a local place. Lots of cool photos on the walls to check out. The staff was friendly and efficient. Give it a try if you are in Oceanside.
